Telehealth, sometimes called telemedicine, means seeing a licensed physician without being in the same room. Instead of traveling to an office, you connect with your physician over a secure phone or video call. The physician can talk with you, review your information, and make a medical decision, all from a distance.

We offer telehealth for medical marijuana evaluations only in the states where it is legally permitted. If telehealth isn’t available for your situation, we’ll tell you before you book.

 

How Your Telehealth Visit Works

Your visit follows a simple path.

Before your appointment, you answer a short set of questions about your health history and symptoms.

At your scheduled time, you connect with a licensed DocMJ physician by secure video or phone.

The physician reviews your information and talks with you about whether medical marijuana is appropriate for you.

If you qualify, the physician issues your recommendation. If you don’t qualify, you’re covered by our money-back guarantee.

 

Our Medical Team

Every DocMJ evaluation is conducted by a licensed physician. Our physicians are certified to authorize qualified patients for medical marijuana. They are doctors first, and their job is to give you an honest, professional evaluation, not to approve everyone who asks.

 

The Provider-Patient Relationship

A provider-patient relationship begins only after a licensed DocMJ physician agrees to evaluate you and starts your visit. Booking an appointment or submitting your information does not, by itself, create that relationship.

Our physicians may decline to provide care if they determine that telehealth or medical marijuana isn’t appropriate for you.

 

Benefits of Telehealth

Risks and Limitations

Telehealth is convenient, but it isn’t the same as an in-person visit. Understand these limitations before you consent.

A physician can’t perform a physical examination over a video or phone call.

Technical problems, such as a dropped connection or poor audio, may interrupt a visit. If that happens, your physician may continue the visit by phone.

Your physician relies on the information you provide. Incomplete or inaccurate information can affect the quality of your evaluation.

Some conditions may require an in-person evaluation. If so, your physician will let you know.

 

Not for Emergencies

DocMJ telehealth services are not for medical or psychiatric emergencies. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department right away.

 

Privacy and Your Information

We take the privacy of your health information seriously. Your telehealth visit is conducted over a secure, encrypted connection, and your information is handled in line with HIPAA privacy standards.
