Our Mission
We founded DocMJ on a belief that should not be controversial: when you are suffering, you deserve relief that works, from doctors who listen, at a price that does not bury you. Our mission is to provide Total Individualized Wellness services that relieve suffering through compassionate, affordable medical treatments rooted in scientifically proven alternative medicine.
We do not see medical cannabis as your last resort. For many patients who come to us, it is the first thing that has actually worked. If chronic pain keeps you from picking up your grandkids, or PTSD makes a trip to the grocery store feel impossible, those are not abstract diagnoses to us. They are your actual life. And your life is what we are here to help you get back.
Our Story
We opened our first office in Clearwater, Florida in August 2016. The physicians who started DocMJ had seen what the opioid crisis was doing to their patients. They knew there had to be a better way for you to manage pain, anxiety, and the dozens of other qualifying conditions that bring people through our doors.
Word spread the way it always does when something actually works: patients told their friends, their family, their own doctors. Your neighbor whose fibromyalgia finally let her sleep. A veteran in your community whose nightmares stopped for the first time in 20 years. These are the stories that built DocMJ. Not advertising. Results.
By 2025, we had grown from one Florida clinic to 27 locations and a national telehealth platform serving patients across Florida, Georgia, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. You can see us in person or from your living room. Either way, the promise is the same: if your evaluation determines that medical cannabis is not right for you, you pay nothing. Period.
Our Physician Network
Your medical cannabis recommendation is only as good as the doctor who writes it. That is why we built one of the largest and most diverse physician networks in the country: more than 50 licensed practitioners spanning nearly every medical specialty you might need.
Depth Across Specialties
Our physicians are board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, anesthesiology, pain management, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, hospice and palliative medicine, and general surgery. Many hold multiple board certifications and are licensed across multiple states. Several hold advanced research degrees, including PhDs in epidemiology.
This breadth is not academic window dressing. If chemotherapy has left you unable to eat, your clinical needs are nothing like someone managing chronic back pain. If your child has intractable epilepsy, the expertise required goes well beyond what general practice covers. We built a network where the right doctor is always available for your specific situation.
Mental Health Integration
We recognized something early that most cannabis clinics overlook. PTSD, anxiety, and depression are among the most common qualifying conditions our patients bring to us. A cannabis recommendation alone treats your symptoms. But the underlying condition often needs more than symptom management.
That is why our network includes licensed mental health counselors who work alongside your physician. When medical cannabis and counseling are combined, you do not just feel better for a few hours. You build real strategies for long-term wellness. The research supports this approach. But what matters more is what our patients tell us: the combination works.
Credentialed and Compliant
Every DocMJ physician has completed the state-mandated training required to recommend medical cannabis. They are registered and certified practitioners in each state they serve. You should never have to wonder whether your certification is valid. We track changing regulations across every state we operate in so that you do not have to.
Your Health, Your Terms
We know that cost stops people from getting help. So we built our pricing around a promise that puts your interests first: one all-inclusive fee, low monthly payment options, and a 100% refund if your evaluation determines you do not qualify. No hidden charges. No surprise bills. No pressure to move forward if this is not right for you.
You can see us in person at any of our clinic locations or through a secure telehealth appointment wherever state law permits. Whether this is your first evaluation or you are renewing an existing certification, the process is straightforward: a real conversation with a real doctor who understands your condition and your goals. No scripts. No assembly line.
We have been featured in medical cannabis publications and have built partnerships with dispensaries across our service states. But the recognition that matters most to us is quieter. It is the patient who calls six months after their first visit to say they went back to work. The veteran who tells us they finally slept through the night. The parent who says their child’s seizures have stopped.
We did not enter this field to build a business. We entered it because we saw medicine failing patients like you, and we believed cannabis, practiced responsibly, could change that. A decade and over 400,000 visits later, we believe it more than ever.
