Ohio Allows Telemedicine For Medical Marijuana During Coronavirus 2020
As a result of COVID-19, the State Medical Board of Ohio is allowing for Telemedicine visits for medical marijuana recommendations and renewals. This means patients can be evaluated for an Ohio medical marijuana card over the phone with a certified medical marijuana doctor, without having to leave home. During this time, the health and safety of our physicians, our office staff, and our patients is our number one priority.
Dr. Clyde Watson of DocMJ says, “It’s very simple. We can still see patients without putting anyone’s health at risk.”
How Does Telemedicine Work?
Completing a Telemedicine visit with DocMJ is easy! You will need a device that has both a camera and a microphone such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. We ask that during your Telemedicine exam that you be in a quiet place with little to no feedback or background noise and that you sign on about 3 minutes before your scheduled visit time to wait for your physician to begin the exam.
Who Qualifies for Ohio Medical Marijuana?
According to Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Control Program, a person diagnosed with any of the following conditions may be eligible for an Ohio medical marijuana card, including:
- AIDS
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Cancer

How Much Does it Cost?
Patient access to medical marijuana has always been one of our top priorities. This is why we strive to be Ohio’s most affordable choice available for medical marijuana recommendations. Our exams are risk-free, meaning those who do not qualify for a recommendation will receive a full refund.
For the convenience of our patients, we offer two different payment options. Our standard plan is $189 and that covers you for the full 12 months. If you’re unable to afford the exam fee in full, consider our monthly finance plan ($60 first month, $30 for the following 6 months).
If you’re a Veteran, don’t forget to ask about our Veteran’s discount!
Schedule Your Telemedicine Exam
Telemedicine exams can be scheduled through our online booking system or over the phone with a Patient Care Coordinator at (877) 899.3626.
