DocMJ serves permanent Texas residents who want to learn whether they may qualify for low-THC cannabis through the Texas Compassionate Use Program. New patients, returning patients, and patients transferring from another physician can meet with a qualified doctor through telemedicine from a private location in Texas.
During the appointment, the physician reviews the patient’s diagnosis, symptoms, medical history, medications, and previous treatment. The doctor then determines whether the patient has an eligible condition and whether the potential benefit of low-THC cannabis is reasonable in relation to the risk.
When a patient qualifies, the physician enters the prescription into CURT. The patient does not submit a separate card application, wait for a physical card, or pay a state patient-registration fee. Licensed dispensing organizations use CURT and identifying information to verify eligible patients.
